Ambient Air Quality

All services
We secure planning permission by conducting ambient air quality assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.

Ambient air quality is the condition of the air in the outdoor environment that directly affects human health, ecological receptors and dust-sensitive properties.

Our ambient air quality assessments and mitigation measures are site and development specific. They are impacted by scale, location and context. For example, to reduce impacts on a green buffer zone we recommend that new houses are set back from a busy road.

The exact type of assessment will be governed by the type of scheme being planned, and any changes it is likely to bring.

We have a good understanding of local planning policy and always build good relationships with the relevant local authority environmental health team. This helps us to secure early agreement on the scope of our assessments, so we are confident in our ability to deliver a successful planning outcome.
