Cundall was appointed to provide multi-disciplinary services for the Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP). The NW PSBP project comprises of five secondary schools and seven primary schools throughout the North West region of England. Cundall delivered services across four primary and two secondary schools. Designs were developed in line with construction phasing to allow the new schools to be built safely whilst the existing schools remained operational.

The schools delivered under the NW PSBP were predominantly new build with elements of re-modelling and refurbishment and were designed to the Education Funding Agency's updated environmental output specification. We initially designed an 'exemplar primary school' which was signed off by the client before proceeding to design the remaining schools. We participated in the Department for Education engagement process on each school to demonstrate our design philosophies.

Rob Cant, Senior Commercial Manager from Morgan Sindall commented, "Cundall delivered an efficient design, on time and went the extra mile to ensure all design disciplines were fully coordinated. Their open and positive attitude meant that they integrated extremely well with the Morgan Sindall team who are proud to be delivering a number of schools for the local communities."
