ISPT Pty Ltd

When property trust ISPT aimed high with its retail asset sustainability targets, it engaged Cundall to assist with benchmarking retail centre performance as part of establishing 2020 sustainability targets. This laid the foundation for ISPT’s NABERS 2020 program which, over two years, strategically improved the energy performance of its shopping centres around Australia to meet operational energy use targets

Cundall's building services and sustainability teams undertook building energy performance reviews for approximately 40 of ISPT’s retail assets, identifying cost-effective options for energy efficiency improvements. Existing systems, passive design of the properties and building controls were assessed and business cases prepared for upgrade projects to achieve performance exceeding 4 Star NABERS equivalence for each site.

"This project required an integrated approach from our team to develop the scope and audit process and then formulate actionable and immediate energy-saving projects. The insights gained into retail centre operation across all Australian climate zones, and how to ensure a comfortable indoor environment and optimum energy performance, have proven invaluable for all our subsequent retail sector projects."
