First Sentier Investors’ new workspace was designed to achieve 6 Star Green Star and Gold WELL (V2) certification. The 4,438m² of office floorspace is spread over two floors International Tower 3 at Barangaroo and comprises 365 workstations, meeting spaces, a high-quality front of house area, staff break out space and interconnecting stairs.

Our team provided the sustainability framework that ensured the fit-out would achieve the benchmarks for Green Star and WELL, including energy-efficient chilled-beam cooling, optimal indoor environment quality, healthy materials, connection to nature through greening and views. Lighting was a key part of the strategy, with a deliberate focus on light for wayfinding, wellbeing enhancement and aesthetic delight.

"Cundall’s lighting design team created spaces for people. At their desks, workers have ample functional lighting without the standard recessed troffers seen in most offices. A circular motif is repeated on walls to provide workers at their desks a visual interest away from their screen. In the community areas, warm colour temperatures combined with table and floor lamps create an inviting atmosphere of beauty and calmness." Bettina Easton, Associate.
