Mark Tweedale

It is the interaction between an individual and their surroundings that steers my passion for lighting, architecture, and interiors. My journey before joining the Cundall lighting team had taken me through the decorative arts and, with my background in feature lighting, this has helped me to think beyond just lighting. A member of both the Chartered Society of Designers and the Institute of Lighting Professionals, I am invested in channelling technical excellence into my design approach, while remaining inventive throughout.

I have developed an in-depth understanding of the harmonies of light, while considering the ever-changing needs of the user. This allows me to deliver a unique lighting experience to each client. Whenever possible, I try to create designs that break the conventions of previous lighting schemes.

As a result of my experience, I view lighting design as a synthesis of science and art - which requires strategic thinking and creative consideration at every turn. This is achieved by exploring how light impacts our mood and general wellbeing.
