Mathuran Marianayagam recognised in CitySwitch Hall of Fame

Australia 18 May 2022

Australian Building Performance Services lead and Principal Consultant Mathuran Marianayagam has been inducted into the CitySwitch Hall of Fame in the 2021 City Switch Awards. The Awards were announced in Sydney and Melbourne on April 28, 2022.

He was nominated by Phill Raso, CitySwitch Program Manager, City of Perth on the strength of Mathuran’s achievements in assisting asset owners, portfolio managers and facilities managers to improve energy efficiency, reduce energy-related carbon emissions and improve occupant wellbeing.

Raso also highlighted Mathuran’s involvement with multiple projects that have won CitySwitch awards in recent years and also his leadership in attaining a number of sustainability firsts.

“Not only does his organisation set the standard for sustainability, Mat has inspired other CitySwitch signatories go carbon neutral and even beyond. Mat produced the strategy for WA’s first carbon neutral office building working in partnership with Knight Frank,” Raso stated.

“He has created a five-year sustainability roadmap to guide progress, including carbon emission reduction, health and wellbeing, tenant engagement, waste and achieving the science-based target.”

Mathuran says he was honoured and greatly encouraged by the recognition.

“It is also important to acknowledge the stakeholder involvement which makes successful projects possible. The engagement on the part of the building owners, facility managers and the tenants has been instrumental. I am proud they trust Cundall’s technical leadership and join us on the journey towards a sustainable and Net Zero carbon future for existing assets.”
