You will be degree qualified (with a BSc / MSc in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or engineering geology) and be chartered with a relevant institution and be able to demonstrate at least 10 years’ relevant experience.

You will have extensive experience in either or both a geotechnical consultancy or geotechnical design department within a contractor. You will have a broad range of engineering geology and geotechnical engineering work including design work for large buildings in both complex urban and suburban settings, masterplanning and infrastructure.

You will demonstrate the ability to undertake assessment of slope stability and remedial design, shallow (strip, pad and raft) and deep (piled) foundation design and analysis, ground improvement optioneering, earthworks design and supervision and retaining wall design and analysis. Experience in temporary works design would also be beneficial.

To succeed in this role you will be able to bring proven working knowledge of BS 5930, BS EN 1997, BS10175, CIRIA 760, BS8004 and BRE-SD1.

In addition, some basic geo-environmental knowledge and an education to MSc/PhD level would be advantageous.

You will be able to both work independently as well as demonstrate your ability to manage and develop more junior members of the team, and relate to more senior geotechnical staff and other Cundall engineering disciplines in a supportive and collaborative manner.
